Patty M. Torman, 70, of Paw Paw, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at her home. She was born June 2, 1954, in Mendota, the daughter of Cornelius and Cecelia (Funfsinn) O’Sadnick. She married Scott Torman on May 11, 1979, in Mendota.

Patty was a 1972 graduate of Mendota Township High School. In her younger years, she worked for the dental office of E. Allen DeWeerth. In 1991, she became a secretary for the superintendent’s office at Paw Paw Schools where she worked for 28 years until her retirement in 2019. She served as cheerleading coach for the high school, was a member of the Paw Paw Parent’s Organization, and volunteered in any way she could. She also helped her husband, Scott, run Torman Funeral Home in Paw Paw. She continued to help her son with the funeral home after Scott’s passing in 2009. Patty’s favorite job was being a mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated mom who always made sure sports uniforms were washed, school projects were on track, and a good meal was ready. She was an excellent cook and baker and was renowned for the caramels she made around the holidays. She also enjoyed playing golf with friends, gardening, and ceramics. Patty was the kindest, most gentle soul you could ever meet and was loved by all who knew her.

Patty is survived by three sons, Matthew (Molly) Torman of Denver, CO, Michael Torman of Paw Paw, and Tyler Torman of Paw Paw; four beautiful granddaughters, Sophie and Lucy Torman and their mother, Kimberly Torman, and Willa and Ruby Torman; eight siblings, Carol Ely of Amboy, Jerry (Lynn) O’Sadnick of Mendota, Joyce (Steve) Sward of Gig Harbor, WA, Kaye Pohl of Mendota, Sue (Doug) Aughenbaugh of Mendota, Craig (Jane) O’Sadnick of St. Charles, MO, Pam (Steve) Kromm of West Brooklyn, and Bonnie (David) Grubb of Ocean Springs, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Scott, on December 21, 2009; and two brothers-in-law, James Pohl and Ned Ely.

Thank you to all the friends and family who would stop by to help brighten Patty’s day, and a special thank you to her son, Tyler, for the selfless, dedicated care he provided to our mother.
