John “Jack” Deering III, 56, of Paw Paw, passed away on November 2, 2012. He was born July 30, 1956, in Chicago, the son of John and Mildred (nee Janda) Deering Jr.

Jack loved to travel, especially to visit his children. He loved most his visits to the mountains of Utah.

He is survived by his children, Katie (Jeff Milton) Hadley of Paw Paw, Cassie (Jonathan) Rice of Salt Lake City, UT, and Charles “Chip” (Jenna) Deering of Anacortes, WA; grandchildren Marcus, Becky, Tony, Olivia, Jeff, and Jack; his father, John Deering Jr.; siblings Penny (Pete) Pappas and Pat (Dee) Deering; and the mother of his children, Chris Deering.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Paw Paw Community Building.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack’s memory may be directed to the American Lung Association.

  1. Our condolences goes out to the family. Losing a loved one in death is a painful event in our lives. May you find the strength and comfort you need in knowing that the bible foretells of a time there will be no more death (Revelation 21:4) and those dead will be resurrected back to life (John 5:28,29). May we all pray for that time to come.
