Arlinda Lee (Novak) Zinke, 72, of Compton, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2011. She was born March 4, 1939 in Mendota, IL, the daughter of Frank and Mary Jane (Weiler) Novak. She was united in marriage to Richard Zinke on November 26, 1960 at St. Mary Parish in West Brooklyn, IL.
Arlinda was employed at R.R. Donnelly Digital Media Center in Elgin, IL until her retirement in 2002. She was a very positive, caring, and outgoing person with a good heart. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren. She loved to play a variety of games. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard; children Michele (Zinke) Babers of Rock Island, IL, Greg (Elida) Zinke of East Moline, IL and Sue (Tim) Moore of Davenport, IA; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Byron Novak of LaSalle, IL and Alvin Novak of Earlville, IL.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Mathesius, and a brother, Frank Novak Jr.
Visitation will be held 4-7 P.M. Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Torman Funeral Home, 510 Flagg St., in Paw Paw.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2520 Johnson St., West Brooklyn where she will lie in state from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass. Rev. Max Lasrado officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
Memorials in Arlinda’s name may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Mendota Lutheran Home.
