Kathryn Louise Guelde

Kathryn Louise Guelde, 93, of rural Earlville, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016. She was born August 20, 1922 in Harding, IL, the daughter of Douglas and Helen (Windus) Wiley. She married Lawrence Guelde on February 1, 1943 at her family’s farm.

She attended Earlville Schools, graduating in 1940 and attended Ottawa Ryburn Hospital School of Nursing.

She is survived by five sons, John of Triumph, Carl (Pam) of Pontiac, IL, Robert of Leland, Jerry and Curtis, who lived with her at home; one daughter Nancy (Gene) Cook of Waterloo, WI; twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Stallings of Green City, MO and Gertrude (Ray) Hoelzer of Tulsa, OK; and one brother, Curtis (Martha) Wiley of Earlville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; daughter, Ann; daughter-in-law, Patricia Guelde; six brothers, Ralph, Roger, Wilbur, Sam, Donald, and Lee Wiley; and one sister, Ruth Hall.

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until 12 Noon, Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Earlville Immanuel Lutheran Church. 415 S. East St, in Earlville. A funeral service will follow at the church at 12 Noon with Pastor Tammy Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Precinct Cemetery in Earlville.
