Natalie Renee Hoelzer Witek, 55, of Steward, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Friday, January 11, 2019. She was born November 22, 1963 in Dixon, the daughter of Maynard and Mary Lou (Barnhart) Hoelzer. She married John Witek on July 21, 1990 in Peru, IL.
Natalie graduated from Mendota High School in 1982. She attended Illinois State University, where she earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in sociology. Natalie was a devoted member of the Scarboro Methodist Church. When it closed, she became an integral part of the First Presbyterian Church of Paw Paw where she served on numerous committees. She volunteered her time with the Homemaker’s Education Association, Merrygolds, and 4-H. She served as an election judge for Willow Creek Township, which she considered to be her full-time job. Natalie was a loving and devoted mother, wife, daughter, and sister. She loved traveling and dancing, especially with her father, and was looking forward to retirement.
Natalie is survived by her husband of 28 years, John; three children, Kye, 24, Devin, 23, and Zack, 21; parents, Maynard and Mary Lou Hoelzer; brother, Hal (Marcel) Hoelzer and their daughter Madeline; and three sisters-in-law, Angela Pena and her daughters Holly and Brittnay Hasselman, Marcia Burroughs, and Brenda Witek.
Natalie is preceded in death by an infant brother, Kevin Hoelzer.
Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Friday, January 18, 2019, at the First Presbyterian Church of Paw Paw, 398 Chicago Road, in Paw Paw.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the church with Rev. Dr. Anne Hoflen officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Grove Cemetery in Scarboro. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Natalie’s memory may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church of Paw Paw or Lily Pads, 4471 Progress Blvd. Peru, IL 61354.
