Jacquelin “Jackie” Hanson, 87, of Paw Paw, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Heritage Health in Mendota. Jackie was born on May 1, 1931 in Sterling, IL, the daughter of Charles and Esther (Schroeder) Wright. She married Wesley Hanson. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1963.

Jackie held numerous jobs throughout her life. She worked at Safranek’s Market Basket in Paw Paw, CTS Knights in Sandwich, and Hart Carter in Mendota. She loved working outside, mowing the lawn and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed reading, especially her romance novels. Jackie loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Jackie is survived by three children, Dennis (Dang) Hanson of Shirley, MA, Lianne Whitlock of Paw Paw, and Marc (Carla) Hanson of Earlville; four grandchildren, Eric Hanson and Christina (Aaron Arsenault) Hanson, both of Massachusetts, Jason (Maureen) Hanson of Mendota, and Brent (Michele) Hanson of Earlville; and four great-grandchildren, Zoe, Claire, and Gage Hanson and Brynn Hanson.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jackie is preceded in death by a son-in-law, LeRoy Whitlock.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church, 370 Wiley Ave. in Paw Paw with Pastor Glen Stewart officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow in Wyoming Township Cemetery in Paw Paw.

  1. My deepest sympathies to all of the family. Jackie was a “hoot” and always added fun to any occasion. I loved your mom. She and mom had a lot of fun hanging around with each other. God’s Blessings to all. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Love you guys!
