Barbara Diane (Thomas) Osland, 79, of St. Charles, IL. passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2018, from complications due to Alzheimer’s.
Barbara (Barby) was born on May 28, 1939 to Hazel Maxine Ambler Thomas in Dixon IL and adopted by Loren Russell Thomas in 1945. She was a life long resident of St. Charles, and a 1957 graduate of St. Charles High School. Barbara spent her last years living with her daughter in White Plains, MD.
Barbara worked in various administrative positions throughout her career until she retired in 2010. She was an avid reader and movie lover, and enjoyed antiques and interior design. Barbara was also a member of the Baker Memorial United Methodist Church of St. Charles.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Timothy Eugene Osland of Aurora, IL, and Thomas Franklin Osland (Cindy) of Cumming, GA; her daughters, Tiffany Diane O’Dell (Patrick) of White Plains, MD, and Traci Beth Costarella of Aurora, CO; her sister, Margaret Beth Corcoran of Eaton, OH; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Torman Funeral Home in Paw Paw, Illinois on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 from 1:00-2:30 pm. A celebration of life service and time of sharing will be held at 2:30 pm. A private gathering for her children will follow. Barby would have appreciated donations to Alzheimer’s research; or other organization close to your heart in lieu of flowers.
