Christy Jane Rhoads, 54, of Paw Paw, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Christy was born February 8, 1963 in Rockford, the daughter of Gary and Barbara (Nelson) Marks. She married Mark Rhoads on March 20, 1982 at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church.
Christy was a kind and gentle person with a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed flea marketing and antiquing as well as playing Bunco. Her favorite thing was being a grandma, which she loved dearly. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt.
Christy is survived by her husband, Mark Rhoads, of Paw Paw; two daughters, Jessica (Matt) Evans of Genoa and Samantha Rhoads of Paw Paw; three grandchildren, Matison, Savannah, and Rhett Evans of Genoa; her parents, Gary and Barbara Marks of Monroe Center; two sisters, Donna Marks (Kevin) Evans of Rockford, and Susie Marks (Mike) Zuberbier-Colligan; seven nephews; five nieces, and her constant companion, Rocky Rhoads.
Christy is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Brian Zuberbier.
A memorial service will take place at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church with Pastor Dave Holden officiating. Memorial visitation will be from prior to the service from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at the church. Cremation care has been provided.
Memorials in Christy’s name may be made to the OSF St. Francis Brain Tumor Research Fund, Paw Paw Lions Club, or Paw Paw Fire Department.
