Claudia Rosenkrans, born March 7, 1961, to Melvin Sr. and Joan Burger, passed away peacefully in her home on December 24, 2023.
She spent her childhood in Monroe Center, IL, graduating from Stillman Valley High School in 1979. Throughout her adult life, she devoted herself to a career in banking and retail, serving the Ogle County community. She had a passion for ceramics, plants, homegrown vegetables, and yearly tomato canning for Midwestern-style home cooking.
Claudia is survived by her children: Nicole (Eric) Carter of Monroe Center, IL, Tyler Rosenkrans (Angela Ahearn) of Gallatin, TN, Shawn Rosenkrans (Ally Miller) of Sycamore, IL; the father of her children, Ken Rosenkrans of Rochelle, IL; grandchildren Austin and Colton Carter; siblings, Rick (Laura) Burger, Robin Burger, Dean Burger, Mel (Deb) Burger; her chosen sisters, Lori Scandroli and Cathryn Denear; her beloved wiener dog, Hunter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Claudia is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Sr. and Joan Burger, and her sister-in-law Shelley Burger.
A celebration of life will be held at the VFW in Rochelle, IL on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 1pm-4pm.
The family extends their gratitude to Serenity Hospice & Home for the compassionate care and support they provided during her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to cover memorial expenses, with any excess funds being donated to Serenity Hospice & Home.
