Donald Richard King, 81, of Paw Paw, went peacefully to his heavenly home on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Donald was born to Goldie Soemo and Fred King on July 12, 1934 in Chicago, IL. He married Joyce Meyer Dorsett on December 26, 1992.
Don retired after many years as a bricklayer and then as manager of Marango Auto Parts. Donald was an active member of the Paw Paw Bible Church, where he served for many years as a church trustee.
Donald is survived by his wife, Joyce; his sister, Corelei (Tom) Codak; three children, Keith (Diana) King, Beth (Dave) Burtelsen, and Richard (Cindy) King; five grandchildren, Nancy (Justin) Kalinowski, Travis King, Rachel Lampson, Sarah Kirby, and Gabriel Ujcic; and Don is the proud great-grandfather of four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert King and Harold King.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at the Paw Paw Bible Church, 410 N. 7th Street, in Paw Paw. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor Jonathan Chadbourn officiating. Interment will follow in Wyoming Township Cemetery in Paw Paw.
So sorry to hear of the loss of Uncle Don. I am glad my family and I got to spend a little time with him at the King Family Reunion several years back. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
