Jerold “Wick” Mitchell, 70, of Hinckley passed away Thursday March 6th, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center in Aurora with his loving family by his side. Jerry was born November 2nd, 1954, in DeKalb, the son of Robert and Sylvia (Hartman) Mitchell. He married Kae Duffy Johnson on September 8th, 1979 in Waterman.

After graduating from Waterman High School in 1972, he served in the US Coast Guard until his honorable discharge in 1976. Jerry was a member of the suburban teamsters of Northern IL, local 330. He retired from the State of IL D.O.T. He loved to spend his free time golfing with his son and many friends. He enjoyed cheering on his grandsons in their sports. Jerry and Kae enjoyed traveling in their Classic RV visiting family and friends. Jerry was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 654.

Jerry is survived by his wife Kae ; son TJ (Nina) Mitchell; step daughters Traci (Bob Downey) Phillips; Kristi (Scott) Pickert ; grandson Carson Pickert and Tyler Mitchell; step grandsons David (Cheryl) Pickert; Bryan (Allison) Pickert; step great grand children Owen (Emily) Pickert; Ellie (George) Benitez; Gavin and Emily Pickert; brothers Mike (Pam) Mitchell and Jay (Lauri) Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Denny Mitchell and his beloved dog “Maisy”.

Cremation care has been provided by Torman Funeral Home, Paw Paw. A memorial visitation will be from 2-5 P.M. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Indian Oaks Country Club, 603 Preserve Road, in Shabbona. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 5 PM at Indian Oaks Country Club. Contributions in Jerry’s memory may be directed to the Illinois Junior Golf Association.   1. I always loved running intro Jerry at different events/locales. Our conversations were full of laughs from the past. We will be out of town at the time of visitation so my condolences go out to Kae and family.
