Levina Belle (Hobb) Miller passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 6,2023 at Cadence Senior Living, Huntersville, NC. She was born May 25, 1937 in Clay Center, KS to the Reverend Webster and Levona Belle (Stiverson) Hobb.
Levina was a graduate of Paw Paw High School in Paw Paw, Illinois, class of 1955. She was member of the choir and class secretary. Soon after graduation, she married the love of her life Lewis Leroy (Sonny) Miller on June 12, 1955 whom preceded her in death. They were married for 65 years. While married to Lew, she traveled the country as an Air Force wife and mother and together they eventually settled in Hamilton, Illinois. After raising their 5 children Levina persued a career at Carl Sandburg College where she earned her nursing degree. She was employed at Montebello Manor Nursing Home for several years.
Among her many talents such as ceramics and crocheting, she used her passion for gardening and together with her husband grew a strawberry business on Walnut Ridge Farms in Hamilton IL.
Besides Levina’s parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by her two infant brothers David Leroy and James Holland Hobb, brother Webster A. Hobb, and brothers-in-law David Roling and Jake Jacobs.
Levina is survived by her 5 children, son Karl R. Miller and wife Carolyn of Huntersville, NC, daughter Lorraina Belle Miller of Davenport Iowa, son Kurtis L. Miller and wife Nada of Sauk Rapids, MN, daughter Julie K (Miller) Robillard and husband James of Houston, TX, and son Joseph A Miller of Winfield, IL
Also surviving are Levina’s sisters Mary (Hobb) Jacobs-Bailey and her husband William, and Joyce (Hobb) Wirtjes-Roling, 13 grandchildren, 15 + great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Wyoming Township Cemetery.
