Richard P. Zinke, 71, of Compton, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2013. He was born November 27, 1941 in Rochelle, the son of Robert and Dorothy (Spohn) Zinke. He was united in marriage to Arlinda “Babe” Novak on November 26, 1960 at St. Mary Parish in West Brooklyn, IL.
Richard worked in the farm industry business for over 40 years, finishing his career with Mathews Company in Crystal Lake. He was an avid collector of farm toy memorabilia. He enjoyed watching golf and Westerns.
He is survived by his children, Michele (Zinke) Babers of Rock Island, IL, Greg (Elida) Zinke of East Moline, IL and Sue (Tim) Moore of Davenport, IA; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Joe (Mary) Didier or Sugar Grove, IL.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Arlinda “Babe” Zinke.
Visitation will be held 4-7 P.M. Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Torman Funeral Home, 510 Flagg St., in Paw Paw.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Monday, September 30, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2520 Johnson St., West Brooklyn where he will lie in state from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
Memorials in Richard’s name may be directed to the Paw Paw or Compton Fire Departments or Mendota Community Hospital.

So sorry to here about your dad, also your mom. I haven’t seen any of you since Greg and I were in 8th grade when you all moved away. I have always thought about you all. My prayers are with all of you. God bless you.
