Rita M. “Sis” Vincent, 89, formerly of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Prairie Crossing in Shabbona, IL. She was born March 29, 1933 in Aurora, the daughter of Thomas and Jeanne (Wilkinson) Vincent.
Rita grew up on the west side of Aurora. She was formerly Sister Rayleen of the School Sisters of St. Francis in Milwaukee for 18 years. She then worked at a bank in Milwaukee before moving home with her mother after her father died. She then retired to Anderson Farms in Montgomery before moving to Lee, IL to live with her sister in May of 2020.
Rita is survived by three siblings, William H. (Edwina) Vincent Sr of Hinckley, Susan (Alvie) Crumpton of Lee, and Patricia M. (William) Murphy of Oswego; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas (Lorraine) Vincent, and a sister, Donna M. Wielert.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at St. James Catholic Church, 221 W. Kirke Gate in Lee, IL with Father Bonaventure Okoro officiating. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the church. Interment will be at 2:45 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Aurora.
