Robert “Sam” Lewis Edwards, 62, of Paw Paw, found his freedom Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Rochelle Community Hospital. He was born February 15, 1955 in Mendota, IL, the son of John Franklin and Rita Mae (Keller) Edwards. He was united in marriage to Linda Hatley on September 3, 1976 at the United Methodist Church of Paw Paw.
Sam retired from Caterpillar after 20 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved nothing more than spending time with his family in any way he could.
Sam is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Ken Edwards and Robert J. (Amber) Edwards; his sister, Cindy Green; his brother, John Charles Edwards; his seven little dwarves, Kailey, Jordyn, Alyssa, JoDee, Alexandrea, Logan, and Taylor; a nephew, Curtis A. Edwards, and a niece, Courtney (Shaun) Edwards.
Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at United Methodist Church of Paw Paw, 370 Wiley Avenue, in Paw Paw.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 7, 2017 at the United Methodist Church of Paw Paw with Pastor Dave Holden officiating. Interment will follow at Wyoming Township Cemetery in Paw Paw.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
